I have been smoking on and off (mostly on, except for a 10-year period in my 30's; I am now 60) since I was 12. After a divorce I started smoking again. I went for periods of up to 4-6 weeks quitting, using meds, patches, and just going cold turkey.

Finally I was having some chest irritation and it realy scared me. An x-ray did not show any growth. However, it made me determined to quit for good. I started on Chantix and have been smoke free for almost 5 months and WILL NOT SMOKE agin. Having encouragement from Free & Clear was a big help. I didn't want to disappoint a counselor who was trying to help me. While I currently do not have any desire to smoke, I must stay dilligent for all the triggers I know that set me off. If I have just one cigarette, the next comes a lot easier. Thank you, Free & Clear!
