My story begins like this: My husband's deductible was going to be $600.00 extra if I didn't give up smoking. So all of my friends that work with him started quitting. 25-30+ years of smoking DONE! So I figured it was time for myself too. Also, I didn't want to cost us even more money. I began taking Chantix and have been smoke FREE for a little over 1 year. What a great feeling to be able to breathe again (and breathe quietly)! The little hints from my Quit Coaches were very helpful. Like when driving, use a water bottle with a straw to have your hand and mouth busy. A lot of willpower is now in place which is sometimes hard, but manageable. Even after finding out that the insurance would only go up if the employees did not stop, I still have stayed tobacco free! It is easier everyday. I can always find an excuse to want to start back up -- only I know I am strong and smart enough to know NOT to! Good luck to all of you and YOU can do it if you try hard!
