Who We Are
Free & Clear has had a long history of conducting scientific research. In fact, the Quit For Life Program grew out of a randomized control trial funded by the National Cancer Institute conducted in the mid-1980’s. In 2001, Free & Clear established a department devoted to research and evaluation studies. Today, this department contains approximately 15 staff devoted to advancing the field of behavioral medicine, establishing proof for services offered by Free & Clear, and discovering innovative ways to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve. During the last 20 years, Free & Clear has conducted more than 20 clinical trials, 50 program evaluations, and made contributions to more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications. The Clinical & Behavioral Sciences Department is comprised of highly-trained scientists, program evaluators, and program managers with expertise in clinical and behavioral research, program design and development, and program evaluation. The results produced by the Clinical & Behavioral Science department have been presented at national scientific conferences and published in top journals in tobacco treatment research.
