Tim Kilgallon

President

 
Mr. Kilgallon joined Free & Clear, Inc. as CEO in July 2004 motivated by the company's opportunity to create value and improve lives by reducing the leading causes of death and disease. Prior to joining Free & Clear, he was president of LexisNexis® Applied Discovery®, a leader in providing web-enabled business services to the legal industry. Previously, Mr. Kilgallon was CEO of Pointshare Corporation (acquired by Siemens Medical Solutions), a provider of online services to the health care industry. Before joining Pointshare, Mr. Kilgallon served in various roles including division president, CFO and General Counsel at Medaphis, a leader in providing receivables management, information technology and systems integration services to the healthcare industry. Prior to his time at Medaphis, Mr. Kilgallon practiced law at King & Spalding in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Kilgallon holds a Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from Boston College.

 

Sanford Becker

Executive Vice President, Finance and Operations

 
Sanford Becker joined Free & Clear in February 2005 as Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance. His professional experience includes over 30 years experience in accounting and financial management and operations. Prior to joining Free & Clear, Mr. Becker was CFO of several privately-held, venture-backed companies including Radiant Research Inc., LexisNexis® Applied Discovery and Pointshare Corporation (acquired by Siemens Medical Solutions), and was a managing member of Compass Capital Advisors, a private merchant-banking firm that specialized in financing high-growth, privately held companies. Before that, Mr. Becker was CFO for Martin Selig Real Estate and was a partner at Moss Adams CPAs. Mr. Becker’s particular areas of expertise include financial and operational management, structuring debt and equity financings, strategic business growth and development, mergers and acquisitions. During his career, Mr. Becker has arranged more than $1.25 billion in debt and equity transactions. Mr. Becker was formerly a board member of Pointshare Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington and is a Certified Public Accountant.

 

Mary Kate Salley

Senior Vice President, Client Services

 
Ms. Salley joined Free & Clear in November 2002 after 18 years of experience in working and consulting in the health care call center field. As the SVP of Client Services, she and her team are responsible for the growth, retention and satisfaction of Free & Clear's health plan, employer and government clients. Ms. Salley is an expert in health care call center operations. Possessing a combination of technical knowledge, creative problem-solving skills and high-energy enables her to motivate staff and optimize performance. Her expertise is derived from first-hand experience serving as a Vice President and principal of DOCTORS, Inc., a national health care call center service agency in Seattle. DOCTORS, Inc. provided sales and service functions for hospitals, health systems, large insurance provider groups and biomedical firms. Clients ranged from Aetna US HealthCare, University of Washington, Strong Health-University of Rochester and HealthNet. She sold the company in 1996 to American Medical Response, the largest ambulance provider in the United States. Ms. Salley has also provided call center operational consulting for call center services to a range of health care industry clients across the U.S., including Stanford University, Virginia Mason Medical Center, Novant Health and the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Federal Employee Program. Ms. Salley holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a minor in Business from Washington State University.

 

Sean Bell

Senior Vice President, Strategic Development

 
Sean Bell joined Free & Clear in November 2005. His responsibilities include managing the strategic direction of Free & Clear's product and service offerings and the company's strategic partnerships. Mr. Bell has over 10 years of experience successfully managing the creation and implementation of comprehensive service offerings for both large and mid-size corporations. Before joining Free & Clear, Mr. Bell was Senior Director of Product Development at LexisNexis® Applied Discovery. Clients ranged from Fortune 50 companies to over 80 of the nation's top 100 law firms. Prior to Applied Discovery, Mr. Bell directed product management at Loudeye Corporation, a Seattle-based digital media and communications company. Mr. Bell's education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from Bowdoin College where he graduated with high honors and an MBA with honors from the University of Washington.


Jennifer Lovejoy

Vice President, Clinical Development & Support


Jennifer Lovejoy holds a Ph.D. in BioPsychology from Emory University and completed postdoctoral training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Emory University School of Medicine, where she specialized in obesity and diabetes research.  In 1991, Dr. Lovejoy joined the faculty of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University. While at Pennington, she was awarded the Manship Endowed Professorship in Diabetes Research, and she founded and directed the Women’s Nutrition Research Program to promote research and public education in women’s health issues related to obesity and chronic disease.  Dr. Lovejoy’s clinical research program has been funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the American Diabetes Association, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and NASA.  In 2003, Dr. Lovejoy became Dean of the School of Nutrition and Exercise Science at Bastyr University in Seattle, a private university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in natural medicine.  She joined Free & Clear as Executive Director of Weight and Nutrition Services in 2008 and maintains adjunct faculty appointments at Bastyr University and University of Washington School of Public Health.  Dr. Lovejoy has published over 50 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, over 15 chapters and review articles, and is a frequent speaker on obesity and nutrition at national and international conferences.  She has served on the governing council of the premier North American obesity research organization, The Obesity Society, for the past 10 years and was recently elected Vice President of the Society.
